Registration just opened for the 2016 Bulldog field hockey skills clinic, which will be on Sunday, May 15, from 9:00-11:00 am. At this clinic, players in grades 3-8 will have the chance to:
- Work with current JV and varsity players on individual skills and fitness
- Compete in small drills
- Meet the JV and varsity coaches
- Learn about what it is like playing a sport in high school
- Ask the student-athletes or the coaches questions (about field hockey/tryouts/high school/etc)
The cost for the two-hour clinic is $20 (paid on the day of the event by cash or check made out to WCHS Booster Club). All proceeds from this event will go towards the Churchill field hockey program via the booster club. Players should bring a stick, shinguards, a mouthguard, eye goggles, and a water bottle to the clinic. Please indicate on the registration form if your daughter would like to borrow a stick or goggles from us. Feel free to forward this announcement to anyone you know who might have interest in our clinic or our program. To sign up, click here
If your daughter is currently in eighth grade and is interested in trying out for the field hockey team this fall, we will hold an interest meeting at Churchill on Wednesday, June 8, at 4:30 pm (room TBA). At this meeting, coaches will speak about the program, our expectations, and tips for kids trying out for the first time. This meeting is not mandatory for new players, but it is recommended. Parents are welcome to attend, but the main audience will be the student-athletes. The first day of tryouts in 2016 will be Wednesday, August 10.
