Friday night featured the naming of the baseball field after legendary baseball coach Chuck Stevens. Coach Stevens led the Bulldogs to their only state title in 1979 along with Regional Championships in 1979, 1980, & 1985. The event featured an event in the auditorium before the football game with former players sharing stories of their experiences with Coach Stevens to a large audience of alumni. Following the event in the auditorium, alumni were led into the stadium by the Poms & band to a cookout where they enjoyed seeing the varsity football team defeat Gaithersburg High School. Halftime featured a video of Coach Stevens and the family of Coach Stevens receiving a brick to be installed in the stadium and the unveiling of the plaque to be installed at the baseball field. The next day, alumni participated in a baseball game to finish off the weekends events. In the end it was a fantastic event to honor an amazing man whose impact is still felt to this day. Thank you to our organizers Chris Nazarian and Scott Sorkin for making this event happen. They did an amazing job!
