Monday was the County’s Coed District Tournament. We sent our five top players and our for top scorers out of that five made up our team total of 304 strokes. This was good enough for a second-place finish in the team event and allowed all five players to qualify for the State Tournament later this month. The five players that qualified for States are: Dylan Rotter, Lena Capoccia, Garyk Brixi, Ritik Verma, and Hannah Han-Kim. The top four scores also qualified as a team to participate and hopefully defend our State title.
Wednesday was the County’s Girls District Tournament. Girls districts is an individual event that Awards medals to the top three finishers and allows girls to qualify for the state tournament as individuals. Along with the five that qualified for States through the co-ed District, we had four additional girls qualify for the State Tournament. These girls are Bethany Chen, Sara Zachariah, Aine Kenwood, and Kaylin Yeo. We also had an individual girl win a medal. After a four hole long playoff, Hannah Han-Kim defeated her teammate, Kaylin Yeoh, and a player from Whitman to earn a 3rd place finish in the Girls County Tournament. Lena Capoccia finished 2nd overall in the coed district tournament.
