 Volunteer For Boosters

Concession Stand Volunteers

Concessions are run by the Booster Club and staffed by parent volunteers. The stadium concession stand will open for all outdoor stadium events as long as there are enough parent volunteers to staff it. The indoor concession stand is just past the main gym and is open for fall and winter indoor sporting events and tournaments. In addition, Concessions will provide refreshments (and coolers) to all Churchill teams that do not play in the stadium or main gym and would like to sell drinks and snacks at their home games/matches. Each team that wants to have concessions at their games, scrimmages or tournaments just needs to have a parent volunteer to coordinate with Boosters and to recruit volunteers to sell the refreshments.  For more information or to arrange for Concessions to be at your game/event, contact Bridget Calhoun at wchsboosterpresident@gmail.com or Jake Lynn at wchsboosterconcessions@gmail.com

Are your kids at the Friday night football game anyway? Volunteer at the Concession Stand to do your part for the Bulldogs! Varsity Football Home Games require the largest number of volunteers. Come help us out! It’s fun!

School Store Volunteers

Are you interested in a volunteer opportunity without any long-term commitment in the school building where your kids and their friends can swing by and say hello? We are looking for parents who have occasional availability for an hour or so during the school lunch break from 11 - 12:15 on Tuesdays or Thursdays to sign up for a shift (or more) selling logowear and other Bulldog merchandise in the School Store located across from the main gym and cafeteria. No experience necessary! This is a fun way to get involved in one of the Booster Club’s fundraising activities and you can sign up with a friend too. For more information, please email Wendy Feldman at wchsboosterschoolstore@gmail.com. And to sign up, check out the available slots available on our Sign Up Genius.

Corporate Sponsors Committee

Do you enjoy connecting with business executives and managers in the area? We need volunteers to look for new corporate sponsor prospects and forge relationships with our wonderful local businesses and provide them with information about our valuable sponsorship opportunities - Stadium Banner and Indoor Gym Glass. Many sponsors seek us out to have their product or service advertised with the Churchill community, and some need to be informed of the possibilities! Join our team and contact our Advertising Chair, Hayley Flack, at wchsboosteradvertising@gmail.com.

The Importance of Your Involvement

“The Winston Churchill HS Booster Club has been instrumental in helping our students and our community to regain their school spirit and sense of community as we return to learning.  Athletics is one of the great experiences of high school, that gives our students an opportunity to learn life-long lessons about leadership and perseverance that are the keys to success.  The Boosters have helped us to provide an amazing experience for our student-athletes, while also helping our community to rally together in support of our teams.  We appreciate their volunteer spirit and the time and commitment they have dedicated to our school and our students.”

— Mr. John Taylor, WCHS Principal

Churchill Pep Rally, September 2021

“A booster club is an essential component to a successful high school athletics program. Without their contributions of time, money, and volunteers we would not be able to meet the needs of all of our student athletes. The Winston Churchill Booster Club is by far the most amazing group in the county. Their support is second to none and as a result our student athletes benefit from some of the best equipment, facilities, and coaches in the Washington DC area.”

— Jesse Smith, WCHS Athletic Director

“Playing on my high school’s field hockey team over 30 years ago is still one of the most memorable and valuable experiences of my life. What I learned from my teammates and coaches and from the wins and defeats translated into important skills and a mindset that has helped me professionally and personally. When I looked for an opportunity to volunteer at Churchill, getting involved in the Booster Club made perfect sense. I enjoy volunteering with other parents who value the impacts athletics has on students’ lives. In addition, selfishly, I am ensuring that I get to continue to watch my own kids having a blast with their teams on the Churchill fields, court, and mat. Thank you for helping the Booster Club in its mission to provide Churchill students with the same wonderful opportunity I had to play sports they love and gain important skills and lessons to use now and throughout their lives.”

- Bridget Calhoun, Booster Club President 2022-2023 & 2023-24
